Citizens Amendment Act

Dec 20th 2019

Subject: CAA - PMOPG/E/2019/0718406

Dear Respected Prime Minister Modiji,

Congratulations to you and Amitji on CAA. This Act along with NRC will provide an accurate count of Bharatiyas. CAA will ensure deserving people will be granted citizenship and exclude those who don’t qualify.

East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) and West Pakistan were asked for and created for Muslims. It is appropriate that we honor that and they accommodate their Muslim citizens and accept Muslim refugees such as the Rohingyas.

Please pay no attention to International opinions. May the force be with you.

Sincerely Yours,

Rajan S Shastri

Dealing with Black Money - Wish No: 6

September 18th 2019 - PMOPG/E/2019/0560897

Subject: Dealing with Black Money

Dear Respected Prime Minister Modiji:

At present Black Money is the grease that keeps the Economy moving. It does not matter what the COLOUR of money is as long as it creates JOBS.

Black Money can be slowly squeezed by making it difficult for parties to horde cash. This can be done by monitoring large purchases that are made in cash. This will also reduce large Hawala transactions.

All the Malls and shops we see were financed by Black Money. As a result a lot of Jobs have been created. This is good. The IPL was funded by money pouring in from overseas. Once the Black Money surfaces, it will provide the base for Taxation.

Rather than penalizing Black Money, the preferred policy is to facilitate the surfacing of Black Money so that it gets put to productive use.

Let Forex come in unrestricted. Sequester part of it as five year Masala Bonds, payable in Rupees at maturity. This will help the Nation's Forex reserves.

With demonetization a lot of “ghost” medium and small businesses conducting business with just cash shut shop. Allow them to surface and enable them to conduct business legitimately once they surrender themselves.

The Rs. 2,000 note serves primarily fraudsters. The sooner it is removed from circulation the better. Demonetizing the Rs. 2,000 note would be even better.

Time is the essence. I hope these measures are enacted expeditiously.

Regards,

Rajan Shastri

Birthday Greetings

September 17th 2019 - PMOPG/E/2019/0555394

Greetings

Dear Respected Prime Minister Modiji:

Wish You a Happy Birthday. Wish you a long Happy, Healthy Life. Wish you great success as the Bharat's Prime Minister. We appreciate the hard work you do and that the bureaucrats put their personal agenda aside and support you in what is right for the country and provide guidance as well.

Have fun with Trump at the Howdy Modi event in Houston.

If you run into Imran Khan in New York at the UN, please convey our country's best wishes to him by saying, “Dheko bhai, suna hai ki aap key Desh Debt mey doob rahi hai. Aap key katinhai dekhkar, hum dhuki hai. Shayad hum International organizations say milkar Bharat bhi apko madath karne ke liye tayaar hai.

Actually, if you say this publicly, it will cause a sensation.

The reason for this rationale is one suggested by Rishab Gulati of NewX. Pakistan is going to need a Bail Out. If Bharat can obtain a seat at the table by participating, it will give Bharat an opportunity to ensure Bharat's security interests are taken into consideration.

Rajan Shastri

Banning of SIngle Use Plastic

September 5th 2019 - PMOPG/E/2019/0555466

Subject: Thank You for Banning Single Use Plastic

Dear Respected Prime Minister Modiji:

We Bharatiyas would recycle everything until plastics were introduced. This proclamation of banning single use plastics timely. There should be strict immediate consequences faced by companies and parties that distribute such material.

I travel on Konkan Railway trains often and it pains me to see people throwing thrash out the window. Even though dust bins are provided in the toilets, people are used to old habits.

What we need are creative community messages on TV and radio that are broadcasted regularly. That appeal to kids who then will stop their parents from throwing garbage.

Below is a podcast that takes an interesting view of the supplier/consumer dynamics. Both sides are to blame. Hope this message gets forwarded to an individual who is involved in the Swatch Bharat program.

There are some very good ideas in this podcast.

P.S. Received the letter from your office in response to my message congratulating you and Amitji on Article 370 35A abrogation. Thank You.

Congratulations on abrogating Article 370 and 35A

August 6th 2019 - PMOPG/E/2019/0444520

Subject: Congratulations on abrogating Article 370 and 35A

Dear Respected Prime Minister Modiji:

We are now ONE NATION, INDIVISIBLE, under ONE FLAG and under ONE CONSTITUTION.

Congratulations to Amitji as well for orchestrating and presenting the amendment and passing a much delayed resolution.

A tri-forkation would have been better wherein Jammu and Kashmir were made to be separate Union Territories each with its own legislature under two different Lt. Governors.

Right To Information (RTI) - Wish No: 5

Aug 1st 2019 - PMOPG/E/2019/0433449

Subject: Right To Information (RTI)

Dear Respected Prime Minister Modiji:

The RTI is one of the a sacred cows of our DEMOCRACY. It should be protected from LYNCHING. It is gives the citizens the power to question decisions, information and statements of the SERVANTS of the country who are elected or appointed to SERVE the country. Questions should be responded with SATYAM JAYATEY in the spirit of DHARMA.

If we are to reduce corruption that has become an integral part of the country's culture the CIC along with investigative bodies and Officers have to be able to perform without being influenced by vested interests.

A denial of a question has to be justified. Denial of an RTI request would be permissible only if it is a matter of NATIONAL SECURITY wherein exposure would harm the Sovereignty of the NATION or deemed extraneous by a judicial driven process.

Any dilution of RTI amounts to CROOKERY, that would enable corrupt parties with vested interests to engage in CORRUPTION.

If policies, procedures and Laws are followed, then a response to an RTI request should be straightforward. The only people who would be affected would be those wishing to hide information or engage in CROOKERY.

Vindictiveness has no place in DHARMA. A person’s actions in the matter of dispensing governance should be guided by Logic, Rationale, Ethics and Morality.

The RTI should be strengthened to include investigation of questionable actions and prosecution of individuals involved if necessitated.

If a question leads to exposing to information that is proven to be wrong and therefore lies, the individual/administration should have the humility to accept the fact, swallow their ego and apologies.

Policies should be put in place to prevent nibbling at RTI with the intent of making it ineffective, toothless and scuttling its independence. Changes should be assigned to a Committee that involves Judges, Ruling and Opposition Members of Both Houses. Citizens should be given an opportunity to comment on changes to RTI.

At some point in time, RTI should be included in the Constitution.

The tenure of the RTI Officer should be fixed at some number of years. The search and selection of officers should be done in a transparent manner.

Finally, investigations by Police/CBI/ED/CVC etc., Lokpal, Lokayuta, the CICs of RTI should be free of any Executive or Legislative control, much like the Judiciary and Election Commission.

Rajan Shastri

ISRO Rocket Launch Countdown in Hindi - Wish #4

July 23rd 2019 - PMOPG/E/2019/0411699

Subject: ISRO Rocket Launch Countdown in Hindi

Dear Respected Prime Minister Modiji:

We should take pride in our languages and the count down to an ISRO Launch should be in any language but English. Preferably Hindi. It is ironic that I am making this suggestion in English.

Needless to say ISRO is doing a great job and makes our country proud.

Rajan Shastri
